The Abels Hus is a futuristic office building in the neighborhood of Norway’s largest university, NTNU. The six-story building comprises 18.900 m2, providing accommodation for large engineering firms and other advanced companies. The complex is the third and largest building to be realised within the Teknobyen Campus, the first of which was the Teknobyen Innovation Centre, also designed by NSW. The Abels Hus has already been awarded the BREEAM Excellent classification and also satisfied Energy Class A, thus providing a real sustainable environment for the 2.000 office workers.
The Property Price was awarded at the annual Central Norway Property Conference in Trondheim earlier this week. The jury reports that «Abels Hus is not only modern and innovative, both also quite unusual in volumetric and elevational terms. It is located on a peaceful site next to the Nid river, but with all its qualities it would have deserved an even better exposure within the cityscape”
