Nyhavna is the unknown city district in Trondheim. It is also the largest part of the Trondheim waterfront – today dominated by a couple of bunkers, scrap metal dealers and some buildings ‘accidentally’ scattered around. Nyhavna is almost asking for a substantial urban transformation and renewal, with a great variety of uses, including considerable housing.
To mark this wonderful potential of this grand waterfront area, the City of Trondheim and the NTNU university, together with Cirka Teater and the Trondheim Harbour Authority, invite you to a one-day urban celebration on Saturday 11 June. I starts at 11.00 and closes at 23.00. There will be 55 different events – children’s theatre, art exhibitions, pop-up cafes and concerts. There will also be a 100 meter long exhibition featuring visions of Nyhavna, including the project Trondheim 50-50 proposed by NSW.
