The first snowfall of the season changed the shape of the new Kystens Hus in Tromsø dramatically. The snow is hitting the different slanting planes in different ways, some densely giving a clear white colour, and some very lightly, depending on the angle of and exposure of the planes but also the wind direction.
The overall architectural concept is finally coming true, where the intension was to give the building different characters and expressions depending on the season. In the summer, the sun and light change the character throughout the day, whilst in the winter the building appears with different expression depending on how the snow falls on the building. All year around it is changing character with the changing light conditions.
