The 14 storey Quality Hotel River Station will be ready for opening on 1 November. It contains 247 rooms and a 400 seat conference hall. There will be two restaurants on the ground floor fronting both the street and railway station. There has been great sustainable focus in the design; e.g. district heating and no plastics. The guests are also encouraged to use public transport, preferably train, as there will be no parking places. The building is timber clad and the floor in the large conference hall is made of recycled fishing nets inspired by fishing and log floats which gave birth to Drammen.
