City Centre Expansion for NTNU University!
The NTNU University in Trondheim will be closing its rural campus, concentrating the facilities and functions around the main campus at Gløshaugen. Future expansion is planned in close proximity, thus forming an isolated ‘university enclave’.
The city politicians have, however, voted in favour of a future expansion into the city centre, well integrated with the urban life and fabric, like in Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard and Yale.
NSW have supported the idea of the City Centre integration and presented recently in the Adresseavisen newspaper two major facilities in the central area; the KAM Centre (Architecture, Music and Art) as well as a futuristic Innovation Centre.
