NSW Arkitektur have designed a new landmark for Arendal in southern Norway. The lift brings you 70 meters up from the city floor, directly on to a bridge connecting the new citadel Fløybyen.
The lift starts in the existing tunnel which connects the Market Place and the Railway Station. From the tunnel floor the lift shaft cuts through the rocks, and once you are out of the rocks a glass lift shaft within an open metal structure affords spectacular 360 degrees views of Arendaj city centre and surroundings.

The first building to be built in the Fløybyen citadel will be the new County offices, also designed by NSW. Both the office building and lift/bridge are due for completion in December 2020.
