Narud Stokke Wiig (NSW) was founded 30 years ago. During this period we have become one of the leading architectural firms in Scandinavia, and also a significant architectural participant mainly in the English speaking part of the world. The firm’s international outlook is also reflected through our 90 employees from 18 different countries.
The founding members, Jørn Narud, Gudmund Stokke and Ole Wiig met as students at Manchester University and have since both studied and worked in USA, Ireland, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Italy, India, Quatar, the Baltic, Oman and Iraq.
To mark NSW’s 30th anniversary, a comprehensive book has just been published, including a well illustrated selection of 80 projects in 9 different countries. Amongst these are:
•Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, and the new terminal recently won by NSW in an International competition
•The Norwegian Royal Palace, Oslo, complete refurbishment but focus on its contemporary elements and additions
•The Science Centre at the University of Trondheim (NTNU), Norway’s largest university building

•Bjørnholt Grammar School. Oslo’s largest school
•Oslo new Tax Offices. Received the City Prize 2009
•Hyderabad International Airport, India
•Salahaddinn university under development in Erbil, Iraq
•St. Olavs Hospital, Trondheim
In addition to the project presentation, the book also contains the company’s philosophy, attitudes and visions for the futures, as well as enlightened texts by three external writers:
-Peter Davey – Editor emeritus of The Architectural Review, London
-Per Olaf Fjeld – Professor and past head of The Oslo School of Architecture (AHO)
-Erling Dokk Holm – research fellow and architectural critic, Oslo
