The building housing TV2 – the television channel – is being transformed into the first H&M flagship store in Norway, located in the lower part of the Karl Johans gate, Oslo’s main street. The building housed the Oslo University in the early 1800s, whilst the Norwegian Post and Telegraph Company’s headquarters were based here from 1868.
The building was completely rebuilt in the early 1980’s leaving only the facades intact. The roof structure is now being replaced with two complete new office floors and a generous roof terrace on top, affording wonderful panoramic views of the Oslo roofscape. The circular corner of the building is being capped with a new three-tiered tower – a modern interpretation referencing a previous tower.
The building work is just about to start, with completion in April 2019.
