Gudmund Stokke is senior partner of Narud Stokke Wiig Arkitekter og Planleggere AS, established in 1990.
He graduated with a degree in architecture at the University of Manchester, England, in 1976. He was founding partner of Narud-Stokke-Wiig Sivilarkitekter in 1979, in association with Jørn Narud and Ole Wiig,
Gudmund Stokke has during his career acquired a broad experience within management and design of large, complex projects related to infrastructure, industry, urban planning and area regulation planning, at national and international level. Further, his experience includes planning and design of offices and commercial buildings as well as various types of refurbishment. He has conducted assignments for NSB, IT Fornebu, Schibsted printing works in Oslo, Dagbladet media house and Cappelen Damm publishing, among others.
Gudmund Stokke founded Aviaplan in 1990, in collaboration with other Norwegian leading architects, for the purpose of planning of the new Gardermoen Airport, and was there in charge of planning and design of the terminal building and railway station, and later for the continuous development of the airport. Aviaplan today serves as Narud Stokke Wiigs branch for international infrastructure projects. Other international airport projects conducted and designed by Stokke are Hyderabad International Airport, opened in march 2008, Riga International Airport and Tallin Airport.
Gudmund Stokke served as president in Norwegian Architects National Foundation (NAL) during 2004-2006, and is frequently invited to attend juries for architectural competitions in outside of Norway. He acts currently as the chief architect of Narud Stokke Wiig Architects and Planners.
